Within the framework of the thematic axis “Perspectives of the Global South”, Design Week Mexico 2026 opens the dialogue toward the south of the continent with the presence of Chile as Guest Country. This collaboration celebrates the encounter between two cultures with strong character, where design acts as a vital bridge between territorial heritage and innovation, critical thinking, and material sensitivity.
Chile's participation offers a complementary perspective: an approach to design where geography, raw materials, and experimentation articulate with identity. Its presence in Mexico allows for drawing parallels and contrasts between traditions, cutting-edge methodologies, and visions of contemporary living, thus driving a transcontinental conversation that enriches both creative scenes from the global periphery.
More than a collaboration, it is a co-creation platform that celebrates Latin American diversity from a projective perspective, recognizing horizontal dialogue and craftsmanship as an opportunity to innovate with purpose, identity, and a sense of community.
The collaboration with Chile was made possible thanks to the support of the Ministry of Cultures, Arts, and Heritage, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Embassy of Chile in Mexico.
